LEIMAY’s Ludus Training -Piercing Butoh
Suggested Schedule: (1 to 3 sessions, 4 hours per session, max 18 students)
Explorations and exercises create the opportunity to experience internal openness and energy flow; distinguish different approaches to generating energy and movement; facilitate an awareness of consciousness, gravity and rhythm; cultivate presence; strengthen and condition a fluid body; and investigate possible relationships between movement and voice. Manipulation of space, time and body through the transformation of embodied images are key. As well as the preparation of an alert and neutral body that is ready to be moved or one that is ready to perform. Towards the end of the class we will use imagery to awake different body conditions, which in constant transformation and play I call dance.

LEIMAY’s Ludus Training -From Training to Individual Creation
Suggested Schedule: (16 sessions 4 hours per session, max. 8 students)
The first half of the class begins with a warm‐up focused on explorations and exercises that create the opportunity to experience internal openness and energy flow; distinguish different approaches to generating energy and movement; facilitate an awareness of consciousness, gravity and rhythm; cultivate presence; strengthen and condition a fluid body; and investigate possible relationships between movement and voice. Manipulation of space, time and body through the transformation of embodied images are key. As well as the preparation of an alert and neutral body that is ready to be moved or one that is ready to perform.

The second half will be focused on an individual creation. The class will give the students the ability to access states necessary to making work and will create a platform in which each student can uncover his/her aesthetic and purpose. Special emphasis is made in awakening consciousness by exploring the unconscious domain, which allows us – as dancers, choreographers and theater artists – to expand our understanding of the body, and our experience and understanding of daily life. Consequently, we enlarge the realms of perception, creation, and discover the possibilities for interaction therein. Integrating physical insights from the first part of the class within improvisation students will have the opportunity to create from scratch a 5 ‐ 10 minutes movement based piece. No drop‐ins for this class series.
